I’m constantly experimenting with new ways of doing things. I thought this was an interesting way to depict illustrative portraiture and hoped it would lead to different clients. I promoted this for a year with unsatisfactory results although I did get a full page for the Latin Grammy Awards and an offer for the best assignment that didn’t work out. The project was for Audi, they wanted 400 portraits of key employees and were going to use them as banners hanging from the ceiling. The problem was that they wanted them finished in six months, which meant two or three paintings a day, seven days a week for six months.
